With two new trades changing the draft order, here is now our new mock draft!
GILAS DRAFT
#1 DYIP Jaydee Tungcab - I heard some buzz that Tungcab is the target of Columbian in this Gilas Draft. I do not have a problem with that as Columbian will have a lot of picks to cover their other needs.
#2 NOR Jordan Heading - I expect Northport to secure one of the Alab Pilipinas guys in Heading. Knowing that Bolick is their only reliable point guard, Jordan could be a crucial addition.
#3 NLEX Will Navarro - NLEX gets the last two pick. Navarro is connected to the MVP group as he is a product of Ateneo. I expect him to benefit a lot by training in Gilas.
#4 TNT Tzaddy Rangel - Rangel made the right decision to join the Gilas draft because he only has the size at this point. He needs to grow his skills. I am pretty sure TNT appreciates getting a bigman for their future.
ROUND 1
#1 DYIP Joshua Munzon - I think Munzon right now is being underrated. Although, it will be easy to assess how good he is as he will takeover the role of a CJ Perez. With his length, I think, he is better.
#2 NOR Jamie Malonzo - Can Jamie be better than Munzon? There is a chance because Malonzo is bigger and may have a higher level of athleticism.
#3 NLEX Calvin Oftana - I really believed that Calvin can be the best player right away of NLEX if Kiefer's plan of going to Japan will happen. I just hope that coach Yeng will run plays for him.
#4 TNT Mikey Williams - With Ray Parks deciding not to play, TNT did their best to get the right replacement. I think, Williams can be that guy.
#5 ROS Larry Muyang - Now that Brickman and Williams are not available, Rain or Shine may decide to just get point guards in the 2nd round. Muyang is from Letran, the same school coach Caloy handled in the past.
#6 ALA Santi Santillan - According to some sources, Santillan is their target. Santillan is a forward, capable of taking over the majority of the minutes of Vic Manuel.
#7 PHX Troy Rike - According to Manager Bugia, bigman is their target. Rike may not be the sturdiest and strongest center available but I think, he will be a perfect fit with Phoenix because of his willingness to take three-point shots.
#8 DYIP Ben Adamos - According to Terrafirma, a center is what they want for this pick. Adamos' hype is rising because he is counted as a local. He is not that skilled but defensively, he can be a plus already.
#9 MER Ken Holmqvist - According to Snow, Ken is one of their target for this pick. He is basically a Troy Rike type of player but stronger and could be bigger.
#10 MAG James Laput - Magnolia can go for the best player available in Alvin Pasaol but if they want to fill their need, they should go for the best center available and Laput is that guy.
#11 NOR Alvin Pasaol - I do not think Northport will let go of the chance of getting the most unique player in this draft. Pasaol can play multiple positions and could be an interesting pairing with Sean Anthony
#12 BGSM Jerrick Ahanmisi - In terms of hype, Ahanmisi is the most popular name, remaining. He is also a dynamic shooter, which makes him an easy fit for any team. And according to the rumors, Ginebra is really interested in him.
ROUND 2
#1 BGSM Joshua Torralba - Snow Badua brought up his name as a possible target of Ginebra. He is a 6'2 shooter and knowing Jeff Chan's age, they may want to find his replacement.
#2 BWE Alec Stockton - This FEU alumnus will surely be appreciated by a former FEU coach in Nash Racela. Stockton brings playmaking and a tough defensive mindset.
#3 BWE Rey Mark Acuno - I expect Blackwater to look for a center and Acuno looks to be the best available at this point. He is long and agile.
#4 ALA Seraj Elmejrab - Alaska had shown in the past that they are more than willing to use their pick for project gigantic centers. Elmejrab could be that guy this year, with his 6'8 frame.
#5 ROS Loren Brill - There is a buzz that Rain or Shine was impressed about Brill. He can be their guy then at this point. He is a traditional point guard, capable of creating shots for himself and others.
#6 PHX Franky Johnson - After grabbing a center, Phoenix can now go back into drafting the best player available and I think Johnson is that guy at this point. Johnson can easily be their 6th man.
#7 PHX Nic Demusis - After grabbing a center and a guard, Phoenix can now go for a forward. Demusis has the leaping ability to be a viable rotation player for Phoenix.
#8 NLEX Ronnie De Leon - Coach Yeng Guaio may want to find his next bigman project. De Leon is 6'6 and has the quickness to be more than a back-up bigman.
#9 ALA Brian Enriquez - Enriquez was one of the guys that did a workout with Alaska. Between him and Browne, I think they will go for Enriquez because of his better fundamentals.
#10 ROS Andre Paras - I remember that we have news in the past that Paras was working out with Rain or Shine. This is the reason why he could be the target of the franchise for this pick.
#11 ROS Taylor Browne - Taylor is the type of guard that PBA teams would love. He can score if the team needs to and he will be a superb stretcher because of his three-point shooting accuracy.
#12 NOR Aljun Melecio - Melecio is the most hyped guard remaining that I think deserves to be part of the first two rounds.
