After watching the San Miguel Corporation make three big trades in securing three-star players, the MVP group is trying to fight back.
Jeramiah Gray and Jason Brickman failed to catch-up with the requirement for the 2020 PBA draft. Fortunately, they are still qualified to be part of the 3x3 PBA and the MVP group scooped them.
So, in a way, they are free-agent but only for the 3x3 tournament.
TNT ended up signing Jeremiah Gray. While Brickman will be part of the 3x3 team of the Meralco Bolts.
Knowing that the 3x3 affiliation will not have any effect on the draft, this may be discounted as zero effect moves.
Especially if we consider the fact that TNT and Meralco are not holding their 1st round picks anymore. That means, they will need to trade for a first to get a Brickman or a Gray in the draft.
Fortunately, their forever friend, Blackwater Bossing, is holding their 1st round pick. A pick, that will surely be a part of the top 5 in the draft.
So, if Gray or Brickman ended up showing that they are the real deals, the MVP group will have a pathway in getting them.
I also wonder if Brickman and Gray burned bridges but not signing with the 3x3 teams of the San Miguel Corporation.
Overall, it seems like the 3x3 will be very interesting if they push it through.
