According to PBA insider of the Twitter-verse, Magnolia is now looking to unload one of the star guards. This could be the reason why Magnolia surprisingly went for a very good shooting guard in Jerrick Ahanmisi.
If this is the case then, that makes their decision a little bit acceptable.
So, the potential lists of guards that they are willing to trade are composed of Jio Jalalon, Mark Barroca, Justin Melton, and Paul Lee.
Alvin Abundo is also with them but he is not a star player.
Knowing that Magnolia emphasized shooting in drafting Ahanmisi, I do not think Paul Lee will be the guy that they will trade.
And if we think about it, he looks like the face of the franchise in this era.
Melton is just a borderline starter at this point. Although, if the hint is just for a small trade, Melton could be their guy.
But I think, the biggest possibility is between Barroca and Jalalon. It is because both basically have the same strengths. Pesky defenders and very good playmakers.
Now, which one?
If they want to maintain youth, Barroca could be the guy that they unload. If they want to get a much bigger name in return, Jalalon should be the choice.
