So, as per Spin.ph, only two teams invited Andre Parar for a workout. In workouts, the team usually directs the player to undergo certain basketball activities to show off the different parts of their game.
If Ginebra invited Paras for a workout, does it mean that they were not satisfied with what they saw from Andre?
Maybe. Coach Tim Cone did not answer the calls/texts from the media about it.
Nevertheless, I wonder if it could have been much better if they did not trade up. If they did not trade up, they could have ended with Andre Paras, Ken Holmqvist / Brian Eriquez and Jerrick Balanza.
Remember, that they traded their #12 2nd round pick and Jerrick Balanza to get the #1 pick of the 2nd round of the 2020 PBA draft.
And think about it, Andre Paras could have been a perfect trade chip for Ginebra. Someone already popular and with just a few glimpses wearing the Ginebra uniform, his trade value could have sky-rocketed.
And if that happens, he can now be added to some of their other young guys in grabbing a pretty good player.
The same cannot be said about Holmqvist and Enriquez. Glimpses alone during the 2021 PBA season will not make them that valuable that easily.
