Now, the most recent rumor was that Jio is bound to Northport Batang Pier in exchange for a package that will include Kevin Ferrer.
If this is true, the scandal may have just become a blessing-in-disguise.
The scandal could have accelerated the plans of Magnolia in trading their star guards. It also made the choice much easier.
And it seems like it is still too early to get a Greg Slaughter. So, they will end up going for Kevin Ferrer first.
And I think, Ferrer is the kind of player that Magnolia has been needing for the past five to six years. Yes, that long!
Ferrer is an ultimate 3-and-D player. He may have not turn out to be a face-of-the-franchise type of player but he may have a good case as the top 3-and-D player.
Why?
Because he is 6'5 and with long wingspan. That makes him capable of depending almost all positions. He is also capable of punishing mismatches because he can handle the ball and has the moveset to create a shot for himself.
A five of Barroca-Lee-Ferrer-Abueva-Sangalang is looking like a superb mesh of skills and type of players.
