Now that we are maybe a month away from the start of the upcoming season of the PBA. Let us look at the bigman rotation of each team and rank them.
#12 BWE: Nabong-Magat-Paras-Acuno-Golla
The current rotation of Blackwater is so tough to look at because they need to rely on two rookies for the upcoming season! And their veterans are not that special.
#11 DYIP: Escoto-Adams-Gabayni-Balagasay-Laput
The rotation of Terrafirma is much more promising with the presence of Adams and Laput but in terms of results, we have not seen that much.
#10 NLEX: Soyud-Quinahan-Shaw-Porter-McAloney
This one is looking better as the Extra Rice Inc. 2.0 of the PBA. The talent level is not that high but with Soyud and Quinahan at the top, reliability is good.
#9 MER: Almazan-Belo-Hugnatan-Hodge-Jose
The Almazan-Belo duo is a talented anchor of this rotation but the injury risk is just too high to put them much higher.
#8 MAG: Sangalang-Reavis-Pascual-Pingris-Dionisio
Magnolia has the same issue with Meralco. The injury issues to Reavis and Pingris make this rotation pretty unreliable even with a top 15 player at the top in Sangalang.
#7 ROS: Belga-Ponferada-Torres-Santillan-Guinto
Call them the most reliable rotation in this ranking. We know that the entire 48 minutes bigman playing time in the court will be fine with the names in their rotation.
#6 ALA: Tratter-Ebona-Taha-Adamos-Brondial
I like the depth of this rotation and its untapped potential. The Tratter-Ebona-Adamos trio looks capable of being a top 4 rotation in the near future.
#5 PHX: Manuel-Chua-Perkins-Muyang
I am not a big fan of the size of this rotation but in terms of talent, this is really deep and superb. With Manuel's post scoring, Chua's shooting and Perkins' all around brilliance, this rotation could be the best, offensively.
#4 NOR: Slaughter-Malonzo-Onwubere-Rike-Cruz
Size is still the most important ingredient in a rotation and Northport has that. They are also very deep and with variety of skills.
#3 TNT: Erram-Rosario-Marcelo-Williams
TNT's rotation has more talent than that of Northport. Defensively, they may have the best as all the four names above are above-average defenders.
#2 SMB: Fajardo-Tautuaa-Santos-Gamalinda
This is all about the injury concern to Fajardo. If he is healthy, there could be a much stronger debate for the #1 spot. But with the risk that he may not be there, the #1 position is easy to pick.
#1 BGSM: Standardinger-J. Aguilar-J. Devance-A. Mariano-P. Caperal
Ginebra is not only deep with their bigman rotation, they may also have the best twin-tower in the league. Standhardinger and Aguilar will complement their game pretty well with coach Tim Cone, guiding them.
