PBA Controversy: Believe it or not, PBA listened to the fans!

The decision of Thirdy Ravena to sign and play for a team in the Japan B League, continues to change the landscape of Philippine basketball.

The number of amateur players who are following his path is growing every month. Kemark Carino of San Beda was the latest one.

Amateur players are not the only ones who want to try the lucrative endeavor that Thirdy opened to Pinoy basketball players. Even the professionals.

Of course, one of them was his brother, Kiefer Ravena, who was part of a huge debacle last month for signing a contract with a Japan B League team even though he is still under contract in the PBA.

Again, my stand has not changed. The proper way to handle this was to let the Japan B League team buyout the contract of Kiefer.

Nevertheless, PBA has given the green light to Kiefer to play in Japan. Even though, the agreement is only for a year.

For me, this is an indication that the PBA did saw the anger of the PBA universe and the whole basketball community in the Philippines.

I was not shocked about their initial reaction of not allowing Kiefer and even proposing some penalty to him.

What I am happy is their sudden change of stance.
