According to some sources and reports, Greg Slaughter may have a minimal number of practices with the Northport Batang Pier.
The primary culprit was his decision to go to the United States and get vaccinated. It seems like, he then has a hard time coming back because of the restrictions brought by the COVID-19.
A combination of two social media posts may also tell us one more reason.
According to PBA on the Go, a three-team deal between San Miguel, Northport and Magnolia will net SMB, Greg Slaughter.
SMB will give up James Sena, a draft pick and Moala Tautuaa.
I think, San Miguel will lose in this trade, in terms of value, but it will be minimal. Tautuaa is more valuable than Greg.
And yet they will add a future pick.
I also do not think that Greg Slaughter is the better center for San Miguel than Tautuaa. Slaughter will not provide spacing that the guards of San Miguel, needs.
Also, Tautuaa showed in the PBA bubble that he plays well with the current core of San Miguel. I do not think the size of Greg is enough to trump every positive that Moala provides for the Beermen.
