PBA Power Ranking: Top 10 MVP Candidates!

Junemar Fajardo is not playing like his usual self. So, the MVP race is much more open than before. Although, it is not that exciting.

Here are our top 10 candidates!

#10 Christian Standhardinger
He is really struggling to play for another star-studded team. Here is the good thing though. If Ginebra suddenly reverses in consonance with the reversal of his production, his narrative for the MVP will be very clear.

#9 CJ Perez
CJ has taken over as the main scorer of San Miguel as Fajardo is still feeling his way. If he remains to be their main scorer and San Miguel has a good run, CJ will have a good case for the MVP.

#8 Chris Newsome
My dark horse title contender deserves a candidate and Chris is their guy. He is averaging 14.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 2.0 steals per game.

#7 Matthew Wright
The current top scorer of the tournament deserves a spot in this ranking. But, he will not get a legit chance unless he can help Phoenix salvage a Playoff appearance.

#6 Jayson Castro
Castro is arguably the greatest PBA player to never win an MVP. And, he could be smelling blood this year as he is averaging 12.0 points, 6.7 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 39% FG per game.

#5 Ian Sangalang
Ian is having an awesome year on the defensive end. He is a big reason for the surprising undefeated run of Magnolia. If he can improve more his current statline, he will be pushed higher in this ranking.

#4 Junemar Fajardo
The Kraken is still the Kraken. San Miguel has only played 4 games and the games are postponed. This could be a chance for Fajardo to heal up and return to his monstrous form.

#3 Calvin Abueva
If Magnolia managed to be part of the 2021 Finals, Abueva will be pegged as the reason that they got there. He is currently manufacturing 16.0 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 36% 3FG per game.

#2 Greg Slaughter
Believe it or not but Greg is currently the most dominant giant in the game. Add the narrative that he is a new arrival in Northport and a deep playoff run by Northport will build a good case for the Gregzilla.

#1 Stanley Pringle
Pringle is so good that he is managing to maintain his production level even with the disruptive arrival of Standhardinger. Pringle is currently norming 18.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 47% FG per game.
