PBA Trade Rumors: Another one-sided Magnolia-Northport trade rumor!

The Greg Slaughter-saga continues in another rumor posted by PBA on the Go. Knowing the current hit rate of the rumors provided by PBA on the Go, which is zero at this point, you can treat this as more of a just-for-fun article.

So, according to the source, Magnolia is currently offering Jio Jalalon, Justin Melton and Kyle Pascual plus 1st round pick for Greg Slaughter and Nico Elorde.

Is this a realistic offer by Magnolia?

Yes. Knowing the history of the trades of Northport and the connection of Northport to SMC, a quantity-for-quality trade is a realistic possibility.

But, is this trade fair?

Let us say, two first-round picks are offered. So, two 1sts, Jalalon, Melton and Pascual for the best giant of the first part of the 2021 Philippine Cup.

I think, value-wise, it is still not fair. Those 1st round picks are likely to be at #8 to #12. And knowing that Philippine basketball is having an exodus of good young amateur players, it is hard to put high value on those picks.

Although, value-wise, I think it has a chance of being a fair one. They just need to exchange Melton for a non-guard quality starter in their team.

So, either Jackson Corpuz or Aris Dionisio.
