Calvin then was placed under an indefinite suspension and the possibility of him not ever playing again in the PBA was there.
He was able to return and played first for Phoenix. And then a surprising trade to Magnolia Hotshots happened.
One of the biggest questions, when he was traded to Magnolia, is, can he maintain the calmness in his game now?
And by the looks of it, he did. Did you watch their game against Rain or Shine Elasto Painters? He was sent to the ground, more than once.
Calvin took it all and did not retaliate.
He also just made a magnificent turnaround jumper that sealed their game against Northport and place in the playoffs.
Now, Abueva is playing really really well. His numbers are really really impressive. And now, the guy has a chance to complete redemption.
How?
He is a strong candidate for the MVP. It will not be easy but he should be aware about it and use it as a motivation.
True. I agree with this article. Calvin should just avoid being hot headed and the way he is playing, he is now guided by the coaches and teammates to avoid any confrontation and behave because that is the only way to get that most coveted plum - MVP.
