Now that the league has resumed, the competition will surely heat up! The fact that this is just the 2nd tournament in two years now actually propels the value of the championship that they are fighting for. Teams that blink may end up regretting a lot in their lives.
With a much higher stake, the expectations for the coaches are also through the roof. And I think, there are three coaches that may get fired with a disappointing performance this tournament.
John Cardel
Actually, there is already a rumor that a current assistant coach of the San Miguel Beermen may takeover the reigns from Cardel.
That will not be surprising, knowing the relationship of Terrafirma to the San Miguel Corporation. It also shows that Cardel's main priority in the team may not be about winning but developing the plethora of young studs that the Dyip franchise has.
Pido Jarencio
Coach Pido with Christian Standhardinger managed a good run in the 2019 Commissioner's Cup. After that, Northport ended up with two disappointing tournaments. Another bad run and I think a serious management should really consider a change.
Leo Austria
How far can coach Leo avoid the ire of the fans of the Beermen franchise? How much latitude will the management give to him?
They still have a top 2 roster in the league. They cannot continue failing in reaching the championship stage.
