PBA on the Go, currently the most active poster of PBA trade rumors, is persistent in pushing that Alaska is making offers for Rey Nambatac. Or maybe vice versa.
The latest rumor is that Alaska is offering Gab Banal, Taylor Browne and Kevin Racal for Rey Nambatac. Gab and Browne are of course playing their first year with the Aces.
Gab is a free-agency signing while Browne was their second-round pick in the 2020 PBA draft.
This is an interesting trade in a way because Banal is really playing very well. I actually think that he could be the best wing right now of Alaska.
But, Rey Nambatac is really good too. He is currently averaging 12.8 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.0 steal and 30% FG per game.
His efficiency is really bad right now but his impact in the game is really prevalent. He can really get the attention of the defense.
And I do believe that he is the kind of player that Alaska badly needs. They do not really have a player who can consistently break down the defense.
His three-point shooting is not efficient but him handling the ball, it will help open up space for his teammates.
Although, I have a hard time accepting this as a real thing because I do not think Rain or Shine wants to have a trade where they get a lot of players because they already have a lot of players in their rosters.
