A trade that sent shockwaves to the entire PBA universe just happened! Arwind Santos, a member of the legendary death 5 of San Miguel, was exchanged for Vic Manuel.
Was the trade fair?
Of course, yes. We can say that both guys are currently on the same level of star quality. Santos achieved more but he is older than Vic Manuel.
So, who won the trade?
Northport
Overall, Northport gave up Sean Anthony, Sean Manganti and a 2nd round pick for Arwind Santos and Michael Calisaan.
Value wise, Santos should have a lower value than that of Vic Manuel because of age. But in terms of fit, Santos is way better beside Greg Slaughter. He can protect the rim and can space the floor for Greg Slaughter.

San Miguel
I think, this decision is pretty questionable. There is no question that Santos is an excellent fit to Junemar Fajardo and Moala Tautuaa. And Vic Manuel is questionable because he is not a capable three-point shooter.
The fit on the defensive end is also shaky. Manuel is not a good perimeter defender. And if they want to maximize him, Manuel may need to do a lot of perimeter defending.
Although, Manuel is of course a much better value for their future.
