It seems like the San Miguel Corporation is not done making their maneuvers. I do not blame them after witnessing all of their franchises, succumb to the flagship team of the MVP group.
According to a report from Spin.ph, San Miguel and Terrafirma are cooking a deal. Alex Cabagnot for Simon Enciso and Roosevelt Adams.
Yes. Alex Cabagnot is a surefire Hall of Famer of the PBA. Yes. Alex can be considered as one of the top 100 PBA players of the last decade.
And yes, Alex is currently averaging 12.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1 steal and 47% FG per game. He is still a very good guard.
Unfortunately, he is already 38 years old. History tells us that Alex will retire soon. So, trading him for a young and improving Adams and a capable big guard, Enciso, is not fair at all!
Adams may not live up right away from the prestige of being a #1 pick but he is still a credible three-point shooter who can play the power forward position.
Mind you, Alex shot 17% from beyond the arc in the most recent tournament. A clear indication that father time is winning against him.
And now that Spin.ph spilled it before it is approved. I am really hoping that the deal will not be pushed.
Or at the very least, San Miguel will add something more.
