PBA Trade Rumors: Magnolia is getting Chris Ross?

One of the sources of PBA rumors, PBA on the Go, just implied that Chris Ross may be on his way to Magnolia Hotshots.

He said that "Imagine Magnolia having Defensive guard Chris Ross n their roster ,  tapos naglaban ulet cla ng tnt sa finals ngaung conference."

I wonder though if Chris Ross will be a game-changer for Magnolia. They are already one of the top defensive teams in the PBA.

So, adding a Ross, who is arguably the best defensive point guard in the league, may not actually move the needle that much on the end of the court.

I also wonder how can they rotate their players. Ross and Barroca may have the same role on the defensive end.

Offensively, Chris needs the ball to maximize his value. The same can be said for Mark Barroca, Calvin Abueva and Paul Lee.

Also, he is a bad three-point shooter. So, he will not be helping in providing better spaces for Calvin and Ian Sangalang.

In short, Ross will reduce the effectiveness of Calvin, Paul Lee and Barroca, and he will also not help in providing spaces to them.

So, for me, this rumor is hard to buy.
