Terrafirma Dyip and Blackwater Elite continue to make moves that will help them get a much better pick in the upcoming draft. Or in another way of saying it, they are not making any move to help themselves win games. I wonder why.
TNT ended up benefitting as they grabbed Matthew Ganuelas-Rosser who said no to Terrafirma's offer and Mark Acuno, who was cut by Blackwater.
Let us first talk about Mark Acuno. Acuno actually did not get that much playing time with Blackwater. Nevertheless, Mark is only a rookie and Blackwater spent the #14 pick for him.
Why did they do that? Because Mark is 6'7 with a good level of athleticism. Remember the story of JP Erram? His story is the reason why prospects like Acuno should be given opportunities.
So, this signing is more about the future of TNT, than their present.
Ganuelas-Rosser will find his way back to TNT and MVP camp. I wonder how the SMC camp feels about it knowing that all of their franchisees need a player like MGR.
San Miguel is currently a team without a credible forward in their rotation. Matthew could have filled-in pretty well.
So, by signing MGR, TNT just added the type of player that they actually do not have. A tall player who can make plays for others.
Add his positive impact on defense and TNT just got deeper and much harder to defeat.
