PBA Controversy: Is Japan B League better for the Philippine basketball than PBA?

Did you hear the crowd during the game of Gilas Pilipinas against New Zealand? They wanted Tab Baldwin back.

That is the direct message. But, if we go deeper with that clamor, Gilas fans are actually in favor of using more of the amateur guys that coach Tab built than the professional basketball players of the PBA.

And those fans in the arena and the ones at home that agreed with them got clear evidence of why they are right.

Thirdy Ravena and Dwight Ramos are the best players of Gilas during their game against New Zealand. To be clearer, those two dominated the game.

Thirdy came up with 23 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals. Dwight Ramos finished 18 points, 10 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 blocks.

They basically showed us that on both ends of the court, you can rely on them. Yes, Thirdy and Dwight were arguably the most consistent defenders too during that game.

At the back of the idea that Thirdy and the other coach Tab guys are better for the national team, is an idea that Filipino fans should start to accept.

Philippines will have much better players for our national team if they play in the International league than in the PBA.

Unless the PBA starts to change the formats and make the league global, PBA will continue to be more for the benefit of the big corporations than Philippine basketball.
