PBA Team Power Ranking 4.0: SMB should be a championship contender now, right?

So, trade transactions and free-agent signings are not yet done in the middle of this PBA Governors Cup. Did it move the needle?

#10 Rain or Shine (#9 last ranking)
The reality is, it could be much better for the future of Rain or Shine to work for a much better draft pick than a playoff spot.

#9 Northport (#10 last ranking)
Northport suddenly went for a three straight winning streak that their team. Unfortunately, the hole that they dug is so deep at this point that it is hard to trust them to have a good playoff run.

#8 Phoenix (#7 last ranking)
After a good 4-2 start, Phoenix just suffered three straight defeats. There is a good chance that the issue is their import and they just made a change.

#7 San Miguel (#8 last ranking)
Yes. They now have the most decorated import in this tournament. They even added another good talent in Jericho Cruz. But, we are already on the stretch run of this tournament. I do not think those moves will be of big help to them.

#6 Barangay Ginebra (#6 last ranking)
Did you enjoy the two recent victories of Ginebra? I hope you realize that those wins are against the two worst rosters in the league.

#5 Alaska (#5 last ranking)
Alaska continues to grind and try to deliver one more championship to Alaska. They are doing that even with the struggles of Robbie Herndon from beyond the arc.

#4 NLEX (#4 last ranking)
Justin Chua is a good addition for NLEX as I trust coach Yeng Guaio to be capable of maximizing Justin.

#3 TNT (#2 last ranking)
I wonder if the lopsided defeat against New Zealand will have a negative effect to the TNT players who played.

#2 Meralco (#2 last ranking)
Maliksi is silently having an incredible tournament with his 15.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 2.5 three-pointers per game and 39% 3FG per game.

#1 Magnolia (#1 last ranking)
I have observed that Magnolia is less reliant now on Sangalang. Will this be a good thing for their playoff run? We will see.
