PBA on the Go, currently the most active source of PBA trade rumors, posted a very interesting blockbuster trade!
According to the post, San Miguel and Rain or Shine are talking about a potential trade and it is currently like this:
SMB receives Javee Mocon, Beau Belga
Rain or Shine receives Vic Manuel, Marcio Lassiter, Simon Enciso
We have four star-players in this rumor and that makes it a very interesting exchange to analyze. I think, the first step is to compare Vic Manuel and Beau Belga.
Manuel is clearly the better scorer but Belga is more versatile. And if we consider Belga's foul issue and personal problems, I think we can conclude that they are of equal value.
That means the most crucial part is Mocon for Lassiter and Enciso. Mocon is a young star who produced 11.1 points, 34% FG, 6.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.0 steal per game.
He has clear star potential but inefficiency has been hounding his entire career. Still, he is a 6'4 player who can create for others.
Lassiter was more consistent this Governors' Cup and averaged 9.7 points, 2.5 rebounds, 45% FG and 39% 3FG per game.
There is an eight year difference in age. So, I think Mocon has a much higher value. Lassiter should be able to cover 65% of Mocon's value.
The question now is, is Enciso equal to 35% or more of the value of Mocon? Enciso is already 31 years old and has travelled into a lot of teams due to different reasons. The guy has talent but with clear issues too.
Nevertheless, three Enciso should still be a better value than one Mocon.
This means I see this trade as a fair one.
