There is no denying that the Philippines is one of the most diehard basketball fans in the world.
And we all know that the National Basketball Association is the biggest league in the world.
So, the dream of our country is to witness a homegrown talent play in the PBA.
This year, we have a good candidate in Kai Sotto. He played in the National Basketball League of Australia and currently contemplating if he will join the draft or not.
Should he?
Looking at his numbers, he ended up with a decent statline of 7.6 points, 51% field-goal%, 4.5 rebounds, 0.6 assists and 0.7 blocks per game.
To be honest, his numbers are nothing to be so hyped about. The guy played as expected. A young giant who is still not capable of being a starter in the NBL.
So, the bigger question now is, did he show enough glimpses of potential to be drafted?
I think the answer is yes. The guy showed some great passes. Good energy on both ends. Some good defensive plays. And good outside shooting form.
And knowing that age is a big factor in the evaluation in the NBA, there could be a big risk for Kai if he will not join this year.
If his agent is telling the truth and there are teams who are encouraging him to enter, I hope Kai will oblige.
