Converge purchased a very deep squad in Alaska Aces. Unfortunately for them, only three players are currently under contract.
And according to a report of Tiebreakertimes, two of their core players decided that they wi not play for Converge.
Abu Tratter, one of the young bigs that Danny Ildefonso mentored and developed, will choose to play in Japan B league.
On the other hand, Maverick could be planning to take advantage of his upcoming unrestricted free agency rights. Although, I am not sure if they will actually allow him this upcoming offseason.
If they will, which team should try to get him?
Ginebra
Ginebra is having a good run in this Governors' Cup but their guard position is still wanting some improvement. I think Maverick will be a good fit because he is a big guard, just like Thompson and Pringle. He is also a credible shooter which Ginebra needs.
Blackwater
In terms of guard creators, there is no team that badly needs them than Blackwater. Maverick will right away become the best creator in Blackwater.
NLEX
Another team that may want to add a consistent play creator is the Road Warriors. Coach Guiao's team are usually deep in guards but not this current iteration of the Road Warriors.
