There is no question that Converge is the hottest name in the news mill after the two teams that will face in the PBA finals.
The Xers are finalizing their roster and part of the process is to check the possibilities of trades. So, a lot of trade rumors appeared on social media.
One of the most interesting rumors is the potential offer of Northport. According to PBA on the Go, Northport is offering Robert Bolick and Greg Slaughter for the #3 and #4 pick of Converge.
Is that offer fair?
I think it is not but not in favor of Northport but for Converge. We are talking about the top scorer and passer of this tournament plus the biggest player in the league.
Those two should not be valued as compensatory to the #3 and #4 pick of the draft. Many fans will say that the rookies that they will take in wi be better than those two Northport stars.
As if, there is an assurance in the draft and as if they are top-notch scouts in basketball. It is exciting to imagine the potential of rookies but at the end of the day, they are just hopes.
On the other hand, Converge will instantly get a top 5 duo in the league with Robert and Greg. With those two, the offense and defense of Converge can be top 5 right away.
But, I will still not do the trade for Converge. Image is important in the PBA. And them trading high picks right away, is not a good way to start their PBA campaign.
