There is no denying that Junemar Fajardo is the most dominant force in the PBA this century and arguably it's entire league history.
One of the negative effect though of his dominance were the boring races for the Most Valuable Player award.
This year though, we saw a human Fajardo and the race for the top individual plum is up for grabs.
The four horses in this year's race are Mikey Williams, Scottie Thompson, Robert Bolick and Calvin Abueva.
Because Barangay Ginebra is the most recent champion and with the overwhelming number of fans, Scottie Thompson is getting the most hyped.
What is very interesting though is that fans are downing what Mikey Williams did this season that he looks to be underrated now by the majority.
The common argument is that Scottie is well rounded compared to a "just" a scorer, Mikey.
The fact is clear though that Mikey is more than a scorer.
The guy averaged more than 3.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists on both conferences.
That my friend is a clear indication that Mikey can do a lot of things inside the court other than scoring and shooting.
Those who understand defense should have seen too that the guy is not lackluster on that end of the court. He actually moves very well.
I am fine with any of the two winning the award but I cannot withstand people who underrates elite players.
