Meralco Bolts suffered their fourth defeat in the PBA Governor's Cup finals this year and it was against one team.
One clear thing that Meralco lacks against Ginebra is not only a top 15 PBA player but a giant. And we all know the importance of size in the PBA.
Raymond Almazan is tall but not really a giant because of his pogo stick figure. Cliff Hodge is hardworking but not big enough.
So, how about getting the biggest player in the league?
Yes, I am suggesting a Northport-Meralco exchange centered around Greg Slaughter.
It seems that Northport and Greg is having an ordeal in their negotiation that will be hard to fix. Will Northport be fine continuing without their giant and without getting anything for him?
So, how about just trading Greg to a team that needs him like Meralco?
I have come up with a perfect package for Greg.
Mac Belo and Chris Banchero. Belo is currently on the trade rumor mill, stating that he is asking for a trade. While Chris may not be that much of a need for Meralco if Aaron is already there for one of their starting guard spot.
Northport's guard rotation is not that deep. So, adding Chris will be a good thing.
While Belo can easily fit because of his size and versatility.
I think both teams will be better if they do this exchange.
