We are all aware about the relationship of Blackwater Elite and TNT Tropang Giga. The two have been part of a lot of big trades in the past and we all know who won those exchanges.
So, when they played last Thursday, that should be an easy game to predict. Like, TNT is in need of a good start because they will be supporting the national team. The prestige of this tournament is also to the roof because of the EASL.
In short, that game last Thursday was huge. Then suddenly, Blackwater players delivered a heart-warming performance to get the victory against TNT.
Was this just a result of players doing their job and managed to overcome a confident TNT squad? Or it could be something good for the league?
What if Blackwater is actually serious now about their intent of contending in the league?
I think that win is as good as an evidence for that. Again, that game is very important to TNT and they won it. If they are still servicing TNT, I suspect the management of Blackwater may have heard some bad things after that win.
Of course, we are hoping that they are finally getting serious. And I saw a news that may actually support that idea.
The team owner of Blackwater, Dioceldo Sy, met with Senator Imee Marcos to discuss economics. If Blackwater will be connected to the upcoming Bongbong Marcos regime, then it will be a bad look if Blackwater remains to be a cellar-dweller in the league.
Is Dioceldo Sy about to get enough support to finally be serious about contending in the PBA?
I am really hoping for it.
