#10 Rain or Shine
The competition for this year's Philippine Cup is looking to be very tight that Rain or Shine can have a good argument not to be at the bottom of this ranking.
#9 Phoenix
Unfortunately, they are winless in their first two games. Fortunately, the first two games provided evidences that they are the winners of the most recent draft by catching Encho Serrano, Tyler Tio and Chris Lalata.
#8 TNT
They are currently 2-1 but the aura of the team and with the Mikey Williams situation, they are more deserving to be in this spot than the others.
#7 Converge
Converge has a very young team that learned a lot in their first week in the league. Nevertheless, with their inexperience, it is hard to trust them right now with a much higher place.
#6 NLEX
Calvin Oftana is back and his confidence is there. Is he ready to become the face of the NLEX franchise? Coach Yeng is hoping for that.
#5 Northport
Without Greg Slaughter, it is hard to trust this team that they have enough talent to win the chip. But, Jamie Malonzo is playing like a bigger version of Calvin Abueva. If Northport have two BPC candidate in Bolick and Malonzo, then they could have a good shot this year.
#4 Magnolia
A lot of Magnolia fans are nervous with the surprising bad start of Magnolia. Can coach Chito Victolero pass this test again?
#3 Meralco
Easily the dark horse of this tournament. They have a very deep and versatile line-up. Add their new consultant and Meralco may finally have enough coaching prowess to push them over the humps.
#2 San Miguel
San Miguel is looking like the old SMB but with new faces. Although the focus remains to be the Kraken and man, he looks like a monster again with his 16.5 points, 14.5 rebounds and 75% FG per game.
#1 Ginebra
Still the favorite. Although, if they will struggle again this week and SMB continue to prosper, a change can happen soon. The good news is, Arvin Tolentino is still hot!
