Remember 2021? That was the year that we saw a young Gilas squad gave us a stretch of games of a lifetime. After those games, everyone was hopeful about the 2023 FIBA World Cup.
2022 came and we heard the news that coach Tab Baldwin "resigned". After his resignation, coach Chot Reyes took the job and went on to do historic things!
Yes, coach Chot was so good that he kept on accomplishing things that will be noted on the history of our beloved national team.
Finally this week, the real reason of the current historic run of Gilas was revealed. According to Al Panlilio of SBP, coach Tab Baldwin should get all the blame!
And I agree! I mean, PBA was so supportive back on coach Tab's time that they relied heavily on PBA players! Of course, amateur players will not make a dent in the International scene. We all saw that in 2021! So, coach Tab was allowed to get the best PBA players for his team!
Of course, coach Tab Baldwin was the one who decided that he will be handling Ateneo and Gilas at the same time. How dare him choose Ateneo over Gilas. Of course, we need to believed every word that comes out from the mouth of mr. Al Panlilio. He has proven that he is a successful head of SBP!
Of course, coach Tab's absence is also the reason of the historic feat that Gilas did in the past few months! Finally, we are doing historical things now that coach Tab is out of the picture.
By the way, we should all remember that coach Tab "resigned". And mr. Al made sure to emphasize that he resigned.
