After the very long reign of the Kraken, Junemar Fajardo, the expectations for the one who ended it was sky high.
Scottie Thompson managed to do it after Ginebra sustained their dominance in the Governors' Cup with Justin Brownlee paving the way.
Bias worked like magic and with the strong social media outcry, Scottie did it. He ended the immaculate reign of Junemar.
Now at his prime people expected him to start the season with a bang.
His numbers are still flawless at 15.4 points, 50% FG, 9.2 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 1.3 steals per game.
He is putting up his highest points per game in a conference in his career. A testament of the continues improvement in the game of Scottie.
Now that he is the face of the Ginebra franchise, it is good that he is living up to the billing and actually putting up a statline that I do not think can be comparable to anyone in the history of the PBA.
Can he win a back to back MVP crown?
I am pretty sure that team performance will be a big reason for that to happen. But number and performance wise, Scottie is a reasonable choice.
