Time for Blackwater to enter the ranking!
#11 Rain or Shine
The Elasto Painters are on the right path. Losing sucks but by enduring it at this point, their future will be way much better.
#10 Converge
Converge is relying too much on their young players that I will not trust them with a top 9 ranking. They do have a promising future and with what I saw, I will not be shocked if Tyrus Hill will be one of their big three after two years.
#9 Northport
Robert Bolick suffered an injury and Northport is in danger of being eliminated. Maybe, it will turn out to be a blessing if that will force the management to name a new coach.
#8 Phoenix
I think Phoenix has the right idea with their current roster construction. Unfortunately, they need to incorporate a lot of players that the cohesiveness is not there. They are giving up the most points per game. At the very least, Sean Anthony looks like he can still be a starting caliber forward.
#7 Blackwater
Okay. Blackwater is legit. I mean, the coaching staff and the players are playing to win and are aiming to have a deep playoff run. They are playing a modern cohesive style as shown by their #1 average of assists per game and #1 in limiting three-pointers made per game.. I do not think they have the talent to overcome the elite teams in the playoffs.
#6 NLEX
Coach Yeng Guiao is really good. His team has a winning record after seven games even though they do not have a superstar in the roster. Their current top 2 scorers are Calvin Oftana and Don Trollano.
#5 Meralco
Meralco is putting up middling numbers in this elimination round. It is not a good sign for a team that we anticipated to be capable of winning the crown. The bright spot is the consistent play of Chris Newsome.
#4 Magnolia
Magnolia is not looking like a legit title contender with their demeanor and with how unsatisfying their performance was. Nevertheless, Magnolia is still limiting their opponent at the lowest points per game and they are doing it by forcing the most turnovers per game.
#3 San Miguel
San Miguel is back at the top of points per game. But, I cannot put them at the top of this ranking because of how long is their list of injured players. They do have a deep line-up to overcome it. We just saw Jericho Cruz and Robbie Herndon delivered good performances to help SMB win games.
#2 TNT
Mikey Williams is still Mikey Williams. He is averaging 25 points, 46% FG, 42% 3FG, 5.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. He is unstoppable and if the other elite teams will fail to find a way to stop him, TNT can ride him to grab the crown.
#1 Ginebra
Defense is also the calling card of Ginebra. They are #2 in opponent points per game and #1 in opponent free-throws per game. What is interesting about Ginebra is the fact that Aguilar is currently their top scorer and not Standhardinger.
