PBA Power Ranking: Top 10 most SHOCKING stats right now!

I love statistics in a professional league. It shows things objectively and you can analyze it in different ways. Sometimes, it also give us shocking value.

Here are the top 10 out of nowhere stats right now for the 2022 Philippine Cup!

#10

4.3 three-pointers made per game - Mikey Williams

Mikey is shooting the hell out of the ball from beyond the arc. It is his biggest weapon and the guy is maximizing to the fullest. If we see a player hit four long bombs in a game, we say that it was a very hot shooting night! For Mikey, it is just a normal outing.

#9

39% FT% - Christian Standhardinger
Free-throw shooting has been the Achilles heel of Christian. At 39% though, that is a very bad numbers. With that number, teams can actually hack and foul him knowing that 39% is very inefficient.

#8

3.3 fouls per game - Jackson Corpuz
He is committing that 14.1 minutes per game. It means that at around 27 minutes, Jackson will be fouled out in average. This is not acceptable rate for a veteran PBA player.

#7
6.4 Assists per game - CJ Perez

CJ entered the league as a wing scorer. With the injury to Terrence Romeo and Chris Ross, he needed to act as a point guard and he is delivering the goods.

#6
zero field-goal made - Brian Enriquez and Jayson David

The rookie that Ginebra traded and the current rookie of Ginebra are both without a single field-goal made.

#5
Zero Converge player is averaging more than 11 points per game

Actually, Jeron Teng is averaging 14 points per game but he is currently missing time because of an injury. The only player averaging in double-digits for Converge is Maverick Ahanmisi. This reality is a clear indication of what Converge needs.

#4
62% 3FG - Aris Dionisio

I think I am the biggest believer of Aris and after showing a lot of excellent glimpses in the defensive end last season, he is now showing us that he is a deadly three-point shooter. He is averaging 1.9 makes per game.

#3
0.4 turnover per game - Tyler Tio and Ato Ular

Two rookies who are competing for the Rookie of the Year award is showing their proficiency with the ball. Both of them are playing more than 25 minutes per game.

#2
1 three-pointers made - Jeff Chan

There is a good argument that Jeff will end up as the most overrated shooter in the history of the league. His efficiency was always bad and this tournament is another example. After seven games and 70 + minutes per game, Jeff only made one three-point shot.

#1
16.3 points per game - Ato Ular

If I say that nobody is aware about Ato Ular during the draft,  I think 90% will agree with me. Even if you are aware about him, I am pretty sure you will never bet that he will average double-digit in points.
