PBA Controversy: The REAL REASON why PBA is losing quality players!

The PBA sent a group from their top management to speak with the the top management of Japan B League to discuss with the on-going departure of Filipino players from the country to join the rising league in land of the Rising Sun.

Before this, we heard the PBA Commissioner and the SBP chairman talk about the negative effect of what is happening.

The biggest one is the claim that the league will die if this continues. As they are losing quality players which can then result to the death of the league, according to their opinion.

The reality is, Japan B League is not really the reason why they are losing quality players. Of course, it is not even the entirety of the numbers of International League who are offering.

You can find the real reason in the interview of Greg Slaughter and Matthew Wright. The new signings of Japan B League.

Greg Slaughter revealed that he wanted to stay in the Philippines but his desire was met by silence by the management of Northport. He even said that he felt like the priority of that franchise was not really to win. And I think a lot of fans will agree.

On the other hand, Matthew Wright explained that the sustained mediocre run of Phoenix in the PBA made him desire for a change.

And the reality is, Phoenix did everything to compete. They traded for stars like Calvin Abueva and Vic Manuel. They drafted well.

Unfortunately, it will be hard for them to compete when there are two big conglomerates who are allowed to do things that are not in the spirit of fair competition.

Yes. The real reason why the PBA is losing quality players is the inexistence of parity in the PBA, primarily due to the existence of the farm teams.
