I am pretty sure that you already read the report from Spin.ph that the governor of the team went to the practice to speak to the players and coaching staff.
It is to reassure them that the team will not be sold. That may have helped the team to suddenly found a way to win back-to-back games.
Nevertheless, that is not enough for me to conclude that everything will be fine now.
The reality is, selling of a PBA team is not really as quick as what have transpired with the Alaska Aces franchise. Alaska was allowed to do that because its deep history in the league.
Phoenix do not have that. It does not help that Phoenix is not giving us any sign that they are proud with the PBA team that they have.
Also, the financial constraints that the owner of the company is suffering from is legit. The evidences are the crazy number of debtors that are issuing notice against him.
What I feared the most is that the management could be gearing up to become a farm team soon. Terrafirma and Blackwater are still million peso companies but they are willing to take the image hit.
You wonder why?
Because the benefit is also big. And Phoenix may want to avail of that benefit to help out their current financial issues.
Add the presence of viable trade assets like Tyler Tio who received a high praise from coach Tim Cone of Barangay Ginebra. They also have Javee Mocon and many more.
