PBA Controversy: Converge and Phoenix is showing us the beauty of a PBA WITHOUT FARM TEAMS!

If we are going to be honest about it, 1/3 of the current number teams in the PBA are farm teams. They are not there to compete. They are there to be utilized by the bigger conglomerates.

I understand that even if the PBA managed to remove farm teams. The independent teams will still be on a disadvantage, financially.

That is normal. From the NBA up to the NFL and even the Japan B League, there are teams who will have more financial capacity.

And that can result to beautiful things. Like what Phoenix and Converge is doing right now. Both of them do not have a legit giant. So, they are always on a disadvantage.

Because they are there in the PBA to compete. They searched for a way to do so. How did they do it? They decided to maximize their pace.

And they have put the emphasize on three-point shooting up to the maximum level. And now, both teams are fighting for a top 4 spot.

We all saw their beautiful basketball last Wednesday. They gutted out the boxscore. They romp up the scoring like there was no tomorrow.

So, imagine replacing the current four "rumored" farm teams in the league with four legit teams. Imagine how entertaining the PBA will be.
