In a surprising news that was heard all around the world, the NBA legend Dwight Howard signed with a team in the Taiwan league.
Dwight Howard played 18 seasons in the NBA and has a good argument to be part of the Hall of Fame of the NBA.
Here is the interesting part though. The Taiwan T1 league where Taoyuan Leopards is playing, is just on its second year!
And they are already embracing globalization by the 10th degree as Dwight is actually the third NBA veteran in the roster of the Leopards!
Together with him are Deyonta Davis and Troy Williams. Williams played in multiple NBA teams. While Davis was a 2nd round pick.
So, why did Howard signed in Taiwan?
According to his posts in Instagram, it was about his experience when he went there in the past and he experienced a lot of fans support.
I just wonder now what could have happened if he found a way to go to the Philippines and experienced what Philippines can offer to him?
Money wise, I think the San Miguel Corporation and the MVP group can still offer him much. Can you imagine him playing with San Miguel and having a tandem with Fajardo?
Or with TNT and Mikey Williams as his Pick-and-Roll partner?
Overall, what is very interesting here is the reality that that PBA is again being outshined by a baby-league in the region.
