Remember how CJ Perez was one of the top scorers in the league in his time with Terrafirma? And then suddenly he was traded for five bench players?
In San Miguel, CJ has evolved into a big and athletic point guard. I am actually impressed with the way he is distributing the ball.
Now, a rumor just sprouted that Isaac Go is about to find his way to San Miguel, too. He was the #1 pick of the 2019 PBA draft.
The difference between him and CJ is the fact that Isaac is actually not dominant. His current numbers are 4.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 40% FG per game.
So, the rumored package of Jeepy Faundo, Michael Canete and the future 1st round pick is not as brutal. The reality is, Jeepy and Michael should not be assessed with any trade value because they are still bench players after being pick-up from from the free agency.
So, this boils down to the value of that future 1st. I think I will be happy to give up a future 1st if I will get Isaac Go.
It is still hard to find a 6'8 center with the ability to connect from beyond the arc.
