Do you still remember the Jeremiah Gray to Ginebra trade? Terrafirma got Javi Gomez de Liano and Brian Enriquez in that deal.
Jeremiah is now playing inside the basketball court but still limited minutes due to his injury. While Javi is healthy but is also playing limited minutes because of his poor play.
The reality is, it is still early to anoint Javi as a bust. He is still around 6'3 with a good number of good skills. He is big for a wing. He can handle the ball. He can bully his way to the basket. His shooting form is prestine.
So, which three teams should take a chance on him?
San Miguel Beermen
The reality is, the roster of SMB is getting old. They need some jolt of young blood. Of course, acquiring Javi is not the usual SMB trades that we are used to. But, he also have the right skill set for a role player of a team that is heavy on scorers.
Rain or Shine Elasto Painters
I think there is something there in Javi that coach Yeng Guiao can bring out. If Rain or Shine managed to get him for the right price, coach Yeng can work his magic to bring out the star in Javi.
Magnolia
One type of player that Magnolia is missing is a sweet-shooting big wing who can handle and make the right passes in Javi. If Javi can bring his three-point efficiency to the level that he is hyped for, he can be an upgrade over Jerrick Ahanmisi and Adrian Wong.
