We all know by now that coach Tim Cone is not the type of coach that will develop rookies who cannot contribute that much to winning.
So, it was not shocking that Ken Holmqvist, the #12 pick of the 2021 PBA draft by Ginebra, was only given 2.5 minutes last season.
What was shocking was the decision of coach Tim Cone to just cut Ken. He may not use young players but he seldom give up on them without getting something in return, at least.
I mean, Kent Salado, was even given several years riding the bench and they never let him go to the free agency. Until they traded him to Northport.
Maybe, Ken is not good enough?
Even though coach Tim Cone was actually very intrigue with him when they drafted him. He even used Nikola Jokic as a comparison.
Now, a picture was seen in social media, where Ken Holmqvist was seems to be with Mike Tolomia inside the training facility of Converge.
It is not official yet but Converge may have given him a tryout.
Knowing the importance of giants in the PBA, giving a shot to Holmqvist is an excellent move by Converge. Ken can be the modern center that Converge do not have right now.
