PBA Trade Rumors: Meralco Bolts is worth more than P100 Million. Three reasons why!

This year, we saw one of the most shocking PBA franchise sale in the history of the league. With just a short amount of time of notice, Alaska Aces was sold to Converge.

It seems like the sale was good for the PBA as we saw Converge Fiber Xers dominate the elimination round of the 2022 PBA Commissioner's Cup.

Now, there are plenty of other sale rumors in the past few months. The most recent one is about the Meralco Bolts and according to it, they are trying to rush it too.

According to report, the sale of Alaska Aces to Converge was around P110 Million. And I think Alaska undersold the franchise. Thus, I think Meralco is also worth above P100 Million.

Here are the reasons why.

#1 Deep roster
If you will enter the PBA to contend, getting a deep roster should be tantalizing to you. Meralco do not have a giant in the roster but they do have a lot of great guards, wings and even forwards. Chris Newsome looks like a superstar. The new management can wheel-and-deal to craft the squad that they want.

#2 Legitimacy
Meralco was seen as a legitimate franchise. They are even recognize as a legit title contender for a few years now. So, whoever buy them will be treated too as such. Fans will have a much easier time to appreciate and connect to the team.

#3 Budding rivalry with Ginebra
Seriously, other than the Magnolia franchise, Meralco is the closest as a rival to Ginebra. Knowing that Ginebra has the biggest fanbase, being considered as a rival to them will provide a lot of traction to the team. And this is a league to market your company. Traction and eyeballs are what they want to have.
