The games against Jordan and Lebanon has opened a lot of discussions regarding the final 12 for the 2023 FIBA World Cup.
Looking at how hot the discussion now, can you imagine what will be the discussions in the social media platform once the final 12 is announce?
After watching their games this February and analyzing everything, I think this is my current dream Final 12.
BIGS - Junemar Fajardo, Kai Sotto, Japeth Aguilar
It is not shocking that Gilas was not happy with the decision of Kai. Nevertheless, I still see him as the most important center for our team. While Fajardo and Aguilar will still get their spots because of their skill level for a giant center.
FORWARDS - Justin Brownlee, Jamie Malonzo, Calvin Oftana, Carl Tamayo
Yes. The dream scenario is that Gilas will be allowed to play Clarkson as a local. So that Brownlee can then be the import. Rounding up the forward position are three young high-potential players. Malonzo is the energetic-athletic freak. Oftana is the perimeter-oriented 3-and-D forward. While Tamayo is the inside-oriented 3-and-D forward.
WINGS - Jordan Clarkson, Ray Parks, Dwight Ramos
Clarkson is really the main ball handler of the team. Behind him will be the two main perimeter stoppers of Gilas, Ramos and Parks. The beauty of having Parks and Ramos is the ability of the two to handle the ball and make plays.
GUARD - Scottie Thompson, Jordan Heading
Scottie Thompson has proven that he is still effective in the International game. While Heading has the numbers to say that he is the most efficient shooting guard for Gilas.
