The 2023 PBA Governors' Cup elimination round is down to less than a month. Teams are battling it out hard to have a good position in the upcoming the playoffs.
Fortunately for them, the trade table is still open if they want to make improvements to their roster. So, let me give the potential trade targets for each team. Let me start with Converge, Rain or Shine, TNT and Northport.
Northport - 1st round pick
Assuming that they are now a serious team. They should accept the reality that entering the playoffs is now just a pipe dream. So, trading one of their starters or some of their useful players for a 1st round pick will be better for their future.
TNT - A bigman
TNT is having an excellent run at this point of the tournament. They have top-tier offense with good enough defense to support it. They have some issues in their frontline due to injuries. So, I think trading for a capable bigman can be done. Joseph Gabayni of Terrafirma can be a good target.
Rain or Shine - A giant center
Even though they have a lot of bigman, they actually lack a giant that is needed against the other giants in the league. There is a rumor about Moala being traded in the conference-break. Meaning, he is available. If Rain or Shine can offer a good deal for him. They may get the underrated center.
Converge - Elite multi-position defender
The biggest need of Converge right now is a player that can defend multiple positions. They have a superb offense but their defense can still be upgraded. There are only a few elite multi-position defender in the league. And I think the most realistic target is Anthony Semerad of NLEX.
