We all know that the next tournament after the Governors' Cup will be four to five months away. So, teams are more serious in the ongoing competition.
The four in this list (San Miguel, NLEX, Magnolia, Meralco) are all trying to get a good spot in the playoffs. The first three still have a good shot to get a twice-to-beat advantage.
So, who should be their trade target to improve their chances of winning the title?
Meralco - Stretch bigman
Meralco is actually #3 in terms of three-point efficiency but in terms of three-pointers made per game, they are also close to the last spot. And looking at their roster, they should add that shooting in their bigman rotation. That will make Troy Rosario an excellent fit for them.
NLEX - Rebounder
NLEX is currently last in terms of rebounds per game. So, a rebounder should be their priority. A rebounder who is also not a problem in terms of three-point shooting will be a dream get. Eric Camson will be an interesting option for them.
Magnolia - Perimeter scorer
As expected, three-point shooting is not a strength for the Magnolia Hotshots. So, they should look for a perimeter scorer. The most perfect guy for them is of course Robert Bolick. If they can get him without giving up Paul Lee, I do not think three-point shooting will be a weakness for them moving forward.
San Miguel - Versatile forward defender
Knowing that Robie Herndon is the only capable forward of San Miguel, they need to get another one. If they can find a forward who is really hardworking and can impact the game without the ball, that will be perfect for them. In short, Philip Cahilig is an excellent target for them.
