2022 PBA draft was not as hype as the drafts of the past. But with that very low expectation, the rookies easily went over it.
And now, we have a very close race for the Rookie of the Year award. Here is our top 5!
#5 Encho Serrano (#19 pick)
Serrano will get the #5 spot over Gian Mamuyac because of his better efficiency. He easily justified our belief that he was a 1st round talent and most of the teams are regretting their decision of passing him.
#4 Justin Arana (#4 pick)
Arana has a lot of fans not only from Converge from the other teams. He looks really promising and has that lovable center style of basketball.
#3 Renato Ular (#13 pick)
Ular was the top rookie in the Philippine Cup. Unfortunately, he did not sustain it and his numbers are now down to 11.2 points, 9.1 rebounds and 49% FG per game.
#2 Tyler Tio (#14)
Another steal in the 2nd round by the Phoenix Super LPG. Tio is now one of the top 10 shooters in the league and he looks good enough to become the ace player of Phoenix in the future.
#1 Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser (#1)
He started slow this season but Brandon has put up the most impressive stat-line out of all the rookies. He averaged 12.7 points, 50% FG, 27% 3FG, 5.7 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.5 blocks per game.
