I wonder what is real with all the reports and rumors that are coming out about the situation of Maverick. Nevertheless, the long negotiation without a positive report about it makes it really hard to believe that Maverick will return to Converge.
#4 San Miguel
Some of the rumors that Snow Badua has posted in the past several days are clashing with each other. He posted last week that San Miguel is only willing to go to P500,000 range. Now, he posted that Maverick told Converge that San Miguel offered him P750,000. Maybe Maverick just made a good bluff. Nevertheless, if Maverick is this business-savvy, he should realize that going to San Miguel and risking himself to be sitting more than playing in a game is not a good business move.
#3 Other teams
When we say other teams, we are basically pointing to Ginebra and Magnolia because they are the only remaining teams that are not reported to have made an offer for Maverick that is capable of paying him. I think, we should not discount them.
#2 NLEX
NLEX should be an enticing spot for Maverick. They are in need of more ball-handlers. He can still be the main guy here if he proves that he is more efficient than Kevin Alas.
#1 Meralco
I think it is very telling for me that Snow Badua reported that Meralco players were not happy about the desire of their team to pay Maverick a high amount of salary. It speaks about the desire of Meralco to add a quality player. Add what coach Norman said at the end of the Governors' Cup and I think they are my best bet to get Maverick.
