The NLEX Road Warriors have made a move to bolster their roster for the upcoming 48th season of the PBA. They acquired Ben Adamos from the Phoenix Super LPG in a trade that involved Reden Celda and Tzaddy Rangel. The trade was officially approved by the league on Tuesday.
This trade brings Adamos back under the guidance of coach Frankie Lim, who previously coached him during his time at the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA in the 2018-2019 season. The 6-foot-7 big man has yet to see action in the ongoing PBA on tour, and this move reunites him with his former mentor.
On the other hand, Celda joined the Road Warriors last October as a seasoned veteran with six years of experience. In the two games he played during the 2023 PBA Arena Plus On Tour, the 6-foot guard from Davao averaged 2.0 points and 1.5 rebounds.
As for Rangel, a 6-foot-7 big man, he has been a part of the Road Warriors since 2020. The former National University center showcased his skills during the preseason, averaging 2.5 points and 2.5 rebounds.
The trade provides NLEX with additional frontcourt depth by bringing in Adamos, who has the potential to contribute to the team's success. This move reflects the Road Warriors' commitment to strengthening their roster and competing at a high level in the upcoming season.
The NLEX Road Warriors are optimistic that the acquisition of Ben Adamos will bolster their team and provide them with more options in the frontcourt. With coach Frankie Lim at the helm and a talented roster, the Road Warriors are looking forward to a successful campaign in the 48th season of the PBA.
Is the trade fair?
Yes. NLEX added a usable player in Celda for the younger unknown Rangel in exchange for seldom use Adamos. I think that is fine for a trade.
