In a surprise turn of event, Converge Fiber Xers signed Keith Zaldivar! Keith was the #12 pick in the 2022 PBA draft by the Magnolia Hotshots.
With the decision of Magnolia to let him go, they basically decided that they wasted their most recent first round pick.
Remember that in the 2nd round of that draft, Tyler Tio, Encho Serrano and Ato Ular were drafted. Of course, we are not saying that Magnolia could have chosen them instead but still shows that they wasted their pick.
Keith played 65 minutes with Magnolia which was not enough to really showcase what he can do. And that is actually mind-boggling because Magnolia is not really deep in terms of their frontline.
What is actually very interesting is the reality that Keith's biggest selling point is his ability to score in the post. Looking at his videos, the guy knows what he is doing..
Now, with coach Danny Ildefonso there, I am actually excited now to see if he can turn Zaldivar into something special.
