The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters is one of the teams to watch in the upcoming 2023 PBA draft. It is about to happen in less than a month.
With the #3 and #4 pick at their disposal, Rain or Shine will have an opportunity to change their future in the league. According to coach Yeng, those picks can also be traded.
So, if they trade the #3 pick, what package from each team should they target?
Converge - Jeo Ambohot and #10 pick for the #3 pick
My valuation of Jeo is getting higher as I dig deeper into what he could become. He is a legit 6'7 to 6'8 who can get hot from beyond the arc and who looks to be capable in defending the rim. If they can get that #10 pick as an addition, in my eyes, it is already a trade worth doing!
Blackwater - 2024 BWE 1st and Rey Suerte for the #3 pick
This is a risk that Rain or Shine will take and I think it could be worth it. With what I saw, Rey is really capable of achieving a high level of play in the future and with coach Yeng Guiao behind him, getting to that level will be much easier.
TNT - RR Pogoy for the #3 pick
Of course, Rain or Shine is an independent team. If TNT wants to get that high pick, they need to give up something. Pogoy is getting older. He is a top 10 player in the league but if TNT has a sure guy for that #3 pick, giving him up is a possibility.
