I am pretty sure that if you are a diehard Ginebra fan, you are already aware about the bomb that Snow Badua dropped last week!
It is not a done deal. Snow basically informed the public that there is a strong interest from International leagues to strike a deal with Thompson!
National Basketball League in Australia is the biggest one. There is a good argument already that NBL is a top 5 league in the entire world!
Now the question is, what is the best response for Ginebra?
#3. Sign Jio Jalalon next year
If you are not aware, Jio is about to enter unrestricted free agency. I understand that he is currently with a sister team of Ginebra but the competition in the league is getting tighter and tighter. That means blood may even be push to the sideline when Ginebra is force to make a move.
#2. Trade for a superstar
This will depend on how Scottie will treat the offers by International leagues. His contract is still two years away but of course, he can sign somewhere else as long as that team is willing to pay. If that happens, Ginebra should trade for a superstar caliber player ASAP or they will lost an MVP caliber player for nothing.
#1. Give the best offer possible
Of course, Ginebra can still keep Scottie with the right offer. They will not match the offer bill for bill but if they can get close, Scottie will have an easier time staying in the country.
