Out of nowhere, Spin.ph is on the verge of being bought out by another company. This was discussed in the latest and maybe last episode of the Point of View, yesterday.
Dodo Catacutan, Snow Badua, Jerry Ramos and Reuben Terrado discussed the things behind the current situation of the website.
It seems like it is a management decision and last time I check, Spin.ph is under the management of Summit Media, that also handles Pep.ph and others.
Reading between the lines in their discussion, it seems like the current deal on the table is to give free hand to the company that will acquire it. Thus, all the employees, specially those that are not regular, are in danger of needing to find a new job.
For Ph-Ball GM, we want to give our utmost respect to the website. Spin.ph is one of the foundation of Sports media and knowing that they are the most outspoken and least bias out of all the options on the table, losing them will be a big blow.
We will not be here without them. So, even with only a small chance that the website will continue, we will continue to hope.

With a primary focus on basketball, including in-depth reporting on the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), Spin.ph has established itself as a go-to source for the latest news, analysis, and updates on the local basketball scene. The platform's extensive coverage of other sports such as volleyball, football, and boxing has also contributed to its widespread popularity among sports enthusiasts.
Through its well-curated content, Spin.ph provides a platform for sports fans to stay informed about the latest developments in the world of sports. The website's insightful articles, interviews, and opinion pieces offer readers a deeper understanding of the intricacies of various sports events and the performances of their favorite athletes. By the way, the rumored buyer is GMA7. There news department is respectable and I hope that they will decide to continue the site and retain as many of the big name writers that they have.
