PBA Power Ranking: Top 10 Potential 2024 Most Valuable Player!

The 2023 MVP award ended up again on the hands of Junemar Fajardo. For this upcoming season, who are the ten best candidates?

10. Calvin Oftana
Without their two best players, Calvin has the chance to prove that he is the main man of TNT. If he can do that and they win a championship, Calvin will be a legit candidate.

9. CJ Perez
There is a good chance that CJ will once again be a 1st mythical team but he is only at this spot in our ranking because for him to get the award, he needs to prove first that he is the most valuable in their team. And Fajardo is his teammate.

8. Chris Newsome
Meralco has a new coaching staff and a solid roster that they can win one of the championship this season and give their main man, Newsome, a shot on the award.

7. Stephen Holt
Knowing the current state of Terrafirma, Holt has a chance to prove his value. If he can lead them to at least one semifinals appearance and another playoff appearance, Holt will have a shot. If he can put up monster numbers, that will surely catapult him to the conversation.

6. Paul Lee
Magnolia started the first conference on the winning track. If they can really sustain this, Lee can end up as their main local guy and will have the a ballot for the MVP race.

5. Brandon Rosser
I am quite high about the chances of NLEX for this tournament because of their big 3 and Thomas Robinson. If they end up shocking the league and win the championship, Rosser will now have one of the two main ingredients in winning a crown. I expect Rosser to ascend to the main guy position of NLEX.

4. Jio Jalalon
I stated this in my Top 100 ranking that Jio is now the best overall player of Magnolia. So, if they get one crown at least, Jio could be a candidate.

3. Scottie Thompson
Thompson did not print an observable improvement in the statsheet last season. If he can do that this year and Ginebra managed to get one crown, Thompson will have a better shot to get his second MVP plum.

2. Junemar Fajardo
At this point, I will not bet any money on anyone to surpass the seven MVP plums of Fajardo. Specially if it turns into 8. That is a big possibility if he can sustain his production and San Miguel wins the All Filipino Cup again.

1. Christian Standhardinger
With the absence of Justin Brownlee, I expect Christian to have a bigger role as initiator. If that happens and he meet my expectations and they win a championship, he is the best candidate this season.
